Lorn MacDougal
Lorn MacDougal danced professionally in NYC for more than two decades, both in the companies of other choreographers and in her own work of solo and duet contemporary dance. She has been on the dance faculties of Princeton University, Rutgers University, Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, The Juilliard School, University of Texas, University of New Mexico, and Trinity Laban Centre London, among other programs. Her Pilates training began in the early 90s with the late Kathleen Stanford Grant, a student of Joseph Pilates and Elder of the Pilates community. Kathy Grant was on the faculty of New York University Tisch School of the Arts where Lorn took her MFA in Dance and Choreography, and where she later taught technique and improvisation. After moving to Austin in 2008 Lorn became a certified teacher through Peak Pilates System and practices weekly rigorous training and continuing education.
Lorn has collaborated over thirty years in making dance theater and films with composer/filmmaker/performer Alain Le Razer. Their work has been seen in many parts of the world thanks to touring, film festivals and television. Excerpts can be viewed on the Media page of www.AllThingsAnimate.com.
